About NTM Connect
The “Connecting the National Taiwan Museum with the World” theme was one of three major themes explored by virtual working groups from the International Docent Training Program’s Class of Summer 2020. Membership of this group consisted of four docents participating in-person and two docents participating virtually. Team members hailed from Taiwan, the United States of America, Belgium, and Malaysia.
The “NTM Connect” group aimed to raise awareness of the museum’s history and collections among international audiences by drawing parallels and comparisons with objects of interest from other museums, cultures, and countries. To this end, the group members completed two major projects: the first was a series of educational social media posts, while the second was a long-form article examining the various repatriation and representation practices of four different museums.
